TRENDS SICO 2008
Dreams, desires, realization, luxury,
sophistication: more than ever, colour choices are intimately
connected with lifestyle choices. Our individual sense
of colour trends to fit with our unique personality. And these
distinctive preferences, as powerful as they are, are reflected in
today?s emerging trends.
As with social trends, colour trends gain in
momentum as they change. They are taken to the extreme as
consumers get used to the new "normal" and then become more
demanding. And more daring.
"Extreme" characterizes the three most
important emerging trends for 2008. The new colours are, by their
very nature, extreme. But their overall themes are extreme as
well: extremely dark; extremely punchy; extremely
white.
Extremely dark:
Blue-blacks, deepest purples, saturated grays. Of
the nocturnal shades making an impressive entry, gray is the star.
The new darks are all about the mysterious, the unknown; they convey
strength, ambition and confidence.

Extremely punchy:
Vivid blues, deep greens, warm magentas, bright,
spicy yellows. The colours of this punchy palette are rich and
resolutely exotic. They are brimming with an irresistible energy
that is all about joy, daring and open-mindedness. Used as a
surprising punch of pigment or in colour zoning, these strong shades
give you the desired effect without being overwhelming.

Extremely white:
Lightly tinted with hints of gray inspired by
beach pebbles and minerals, soft whites create a welcome haven of
peace and relaxation. The pale shades of our Mushroom collection are
best used in tone-on-tone combinations; their light floods the space,
filling it with a kind of calm that contrasts well with our complex
world of extremes.
